Friday Weigh-in!

2 lbs off for me this week, taking me to 2stone 12lbs off in 20 weeks - yippee!

I've lost 9lbs in January and have achieved most of the goals I set myself at the beginning of the month. Drinking more water is still something I need to improve upon, so will be top of the list for February.

However, today was not the best start to a new week. Back in December our SW Christmas meal was cancelled, literally as it was about to be served, due to a broken water main. Dobbies very kindly gave us all a FREE Cream Tea to make up for out disappointment. I know Slimming World and Cream Tea don't really go together but we're all allowed the odd treat. I had 2 finger sandwiches and a scone with jam and cream and will flexi syn accordingly - naughty but very nice.

I always plan ahead and have made up my own sheet to keep me focused, so my naughty treat today shouldn't ruin my week.

Have a good weekend x

Friday weigh-in!

So weigh-in this morning saw me lose another 2 lbs! Very happy with that, as I'm now at a weight I haven't been at for at least 18 years! I've now lost 2 stone 10 lbs in 19 weeks and so far (touch wood!) have lost every single week, averaging out at a 2lb loss every week, whilst eating all this fabulous food.

As this quote says, you don't have to eat less, you just have to eat right. I think the reason this has worked for me, is because I haven't been starving myself or craving banned foods, I've just eaten healthy, home cooked food and loads of it.

On a day like today, with this gorgeous start to the morning, I am so thankful for my health and starting my SlimmingWorld journey. I'm feeling fabulous, for the first time in a long time.

Have a lovely weekend x

Enough of the cold stuff!

I don't like the cold - my hot water bottle has not left my side over the last couple of weeks. Jeff despairs of me as I'm always cold - I could be wearing a fleece and he'll be just in a t-shirt! But I've had enough of it now, although we had a wonderfully mild spell leading up to Christmas, this cold snap feels like it's going on forever!

I'm still willing Spring on it's way and today on my walk, I spotted the first crocuses about to flower. I've been really busy with orders thankfully, so January does seem to be speeding it's way through nice and quick but still not quick enough for me.

I do long for some sunny, warmer days.

Friday 16 January 2015

Friday already?

Friday's sure do come around quickly and this week I lost half a pound. Not a huge loss but a loss nevertheless. I had a big 3 and a half pound loss last week so see it as an average 2lb a week. Slow and steady is how I want to lose it, so it has a chance of staying off forever!

I was asked to share a non-scale victory over on Instagram today and the size 12 jeans I was ecstatic about wearing 6 weeks ago, are now too big and I've had to have an extra 3 holes punched into my belt.

I'm still walking and enjoying seeing the odd sign that Spring is on it's way.

I've kept to my goal of cooking something different each week. This week I made a Lancashire Hotpot which was delicious and I've had a go at making Butternut Squash chips - yum!

So a good week but I'm so looking forward to the weekend and a little lie in tomorrow morning.
I have no plans - just time at home with the children as Jeff has to work.
Hope you have a lovely weekend and we have a little sunshine along the way!

The white stuff!

Snow was forecast over night and much to the children's annoyance, it waited until we got to school this morning for a huge flurry to come down. So much so, that when I got back to Shepton I thought I'd be back collecting them sooner rather than later. But as is always the way, 10 minutes later it was melting fast and we now have blue skies and sunshine.

Perfect weather for a walk!

Time for a de-clutter!

This weekend I took my wardrobe to task - so many things were too big for me now and as I have no plans to put any of the weight back on, it needed a serious de-clutter. I have been left with next to nothing - I pair of jeans, one pair of black trousers, no shorts at all. Many of the tops I've saved are really too big but I can't afford to get rid of everything and as I still have another 1-2 stone to lose, they'll have to make do for now. I reckon I can hide under layers still for the next couple of months and maybe in Spring go shopping!

Oh how I loved these jeans, I lived in them!
They're all patched too as I could've never managed without them.

And this top too has been a real favourite - could get 2 of me in it now!

I wore this top the day I met Theo Paphitis. I remember panickily trying to find something to wear that would fit and ended up with the normal cardie on top to hide the bulges!!

I decided to keep some things (just in case!!) but have vacuum bagged them to store away. The charity shop got a good couple of bags worth and I have a few bits to take to my SW group on Friday. It feels good to have had a good sort out and I look forward to buying only things I like from now on, rather than having to buy what fits. Best start saving!

First week of 2015!

It's week 17 of Slimming World for me and today I lost 3 and a half pounds!!
As a result I achieved my 2 and 1/2 stone Award - chuffed with that!

So people ask me what I'm eating, some people see my food pics and think I eat loads, some people comment 'Is that all you eat?' I reckon I eat masses and I never feel hungry, so I thought I'd share with you a week's food!

I do think you eat what your body needs - I tend not to snack but make sure I have a plate of fruit all ready prepared for when I do. I drink black coffee and water and have a glass of apple juice with my tea - I might have had the odd choc with my evening cuppa but otherwise that is it. I'm carrying on as I'm doing as it's working for me. Alongside the healthy eating, I'm walking as much as I can. I have another 1 and half stone to lose, maybe a couple of pounds more, I'll know when I get there! Right I'm off to Tesco's to get a few bits, have a lovely weekend.

First of the year

The last couple of mornings have been tough - it's been hard to motivate myself to get out of bed. It's dark, cold, wet, what you'd expect in January I guess but difficult just the same! So as soon as the rain stopped today, I went out for my walk around the park and spotted my first snowdrops - a cheery sight at such a miserable time of year. The sun was shining and for once I didn't pop my headphones on, instead I listened to the birds singing as I did my couple of laps.

The sun is shining in through the windows at home and my spring flowers are doing just the job to cheer me up and will my way through January. I must say this week has gone by pretty quickly, much to the children's delight!

Sunday 4 January 2015

End of the hols!

I'm a little sad that the holidays are over, by that I mean Jeff going back to work and the kids going back to school. I'm waiting for February to come for my holiday. I'm not complaining but I've not stopped since the Not on the High Street SALE started on the 23rd of December and our SALE started on the 29th.

I've been over at the unit daily to pick and pack orders, so haven't really had a holiday. As I said, I'm not complaining as I know by February everything will slow down considerably.

One consolation of being so busy is at least the month of January whizzes by. It's my least favourite month and like last year, I will be filling the house with flowers and Spring bulbs in an attempt to 'will' Spring on it's way. So the roast is in the oven, panic over undone homework is underway, uniforms need to be found and the alarm clock will sadly be set for the morning.
Roll on Half Term!!

2 stone to lose!

Well today was time to face the music - the post Christmas weigh-in and I'm happy to report that  I lost a pound and won the raffle. Only 5 people lost in group, a total of of 5 and a half pounds and over 80 pounds were put on collectively, so I'm sat here quite happy and a little smug with my pound loss!

I've set myself a set of achievable goals for January as I do every month and my 2015 ultimate goal is to get to TARGET, stay there and enjoy it!

I did have my 2 days 'off plan' over the Christmas break and ate what I liked and enjoyed every mouthful. I didn't go mad ......

....... but who can resist Christmas leftovers. It does just go to show though, in those 2 days my scales gave me a gain of 3.5lbs, so it was a good job I was good either side of Christmas or things could have been very different this morning.

I've decided to give the Slimming World photo challenge (over on Instagram) a go - keep me focused!

As you know I've lost 2stone 4 lbs so far but still have another 2 to lose.

Walking through the Slimming World doors on September the 12th really was one of the best things I did in 2014 and I hope getting to TARGET will be one of the best things I'll achieve in 2015 (no pressure!)

So I'm starting the year as I mean to go on - eating good, healthy, delicious food.

If you are considering losing a few pounds over the coming months, Slimming World has certainly been a great support for me, worth a try!

Happy 2015!

It's here - Happy 2015!

The tree comes down today, the dresser has been de-christmas'd and spring bulbs have been put out in their place - a new year, a fresh, clean start!

We celebrated in style, with dinner for 4!

We had mini Champion Awards.
I came out as the Champion of 'Colouring in', 'cooking' and 'Champion Dieter'
as voted for by my family.

So I wish you all a very happy 2015.

Let's hope it's filled with love, laughter and good health for us all x
